Ares Wizard for Kodi - Updated .69 ( new sources added)

You may well have heard of the legal threats made to the Ares Project (more on this in another article) however, in the meantime we have edited the “contentious” content to avoid further legal harrasment. The Ares Wizard no longer has links to builds or add-ons. It still has one of the best Kodi video cache tools (the first in the scene to do this dynamically per device), and the best backup and restore tool. You can backup any build for safe keeping,  ut you can also restore ANY build zip using Ares restore option – it will auto detect the any full build restores (eg the skin settings) and perform a force close to ensure a proper and full restore.

The Wizard must be a huge install?

Just to reassure users of the Ares Wizard – its a very light install – the zip 2.5 megabytes and fully installed with all graphics etc is a mere 4.5 megabytes. Yes we know trolls from other jealous wizards/builds are claiming it adds 400Mb to installs (but they have no proof of course – please confirm your install in the comments to prove how tiny this install is!)

Ares Wizard Updated, Current version of this addon is 0.0.69 first detected 2017-12-13

Kodi 16.1 Poor Performance?

If you cannot update to 17/Krypton due to an old device you can use one of a few “https” patched forks or even MyGica to put 17 on your old box. The HTTPS patch will improve the chances of gaining HD links. You can get more info on forks here Which Kodi Fork For me

Ares Wizard Common Problems

I will cover some of common issues after this install guide, so if you have blank screens or failing to load build lists – skip to the last bit of the article for common problems.

Ares Wizard Updates

The Ares Wizard update includes a fix for the “build version notifications” – a useful popup when your build updates. In addtion, if you look under “tweaks” a new API manager has been included. This will swap keys for both YouTube and Trakt ensuring you dont have further issues with keys being banned or using up quotas.

All the usual things are there, 500+ builds to choose from, Games, IPTV apps and the most popular addons for extra content if you need it. However, there’s some key upgrades, a new backup feature ” addon settings”, essential with widespread use of Real, Trakt and the mods we all make to SALTS, Exodus and so forth. The first automated cache tweak wizard now works with your Krypton installs!

This add on is “unofficial” and therefore not supported by Kodi TV or XBMC foundation, please do not ask on their forums for help, goto ares-project.uk for further support.

    Ares Wizard Common Issues

Failed Installs” – Black Screen, Black with odd icons

There are lots of reason a build or build backup can fail to restore or install. You can be left with a variety of issues – but on Krypton its usually a black screen or a few weird icons on the menu bar.
Build Failed – No Programs option to Fresh Start!

    If your current build doesn’t have a programs or file manager option available, then you will need follow;
    • Android Locate device “app manager” (not store!), Scroll to Kodi, SPMC, FTMC etc – Clear data

    • FireTV OS – Home, Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, Scroll to Kodi, SPMC, FTMC etc – Clear data

    • Windows Press Win+R Keys for “run dialog”, type %appdata% – ok, Delete the folder, restart Kodi

    • Linux (general) ~/.kodi/userdata/, delete the contents of the folder and relaunch kodi.

After clearing data, it is generally recommended to force stop and relaunch Kodi/SPMC/FTMC etc, or simply reboot your device. Allow Kodi to update itself (you just deleted files it needs to work properly!)
    • It is always a good idea to turn off your device for a few mins and reboot to eliminate all kinds of weird problems caused with devices being left on, memory leaks, multiple apps running in the background etc.

    • We also recommend a weekly router reboot – this has cured many frustrating “slow”, “failed” or “aborted” downloads etc.

    “Failed to update”

You are using an old version of Ares Wizard – update and this should cure it

    “SSL related error”

This is normally ISP blocking, but could also be Anti virus on PCs, or parental controls on your router.

Kodi Dlna Client and Server Setup for Krypton

What is Dlna ? WHAT IS DLNA? The term DLNA stands for “Digital Living Network Alliance”. It is the industry standard for sharing network data combined with “Universal Plug and Play Audio Visual(UPnP). This option can be used to share your media libraries from one device to another. If you have a PC or Kodi Box for your Tv, you can share its media contents.  Other Smart TVs, Game Consoles, Phones, etc. to name a few. It is recommended that you backup Kodi before continuing in case you wish to restore your Kodi settings at a later date. A Kodi UPnP server/media can stream its content to other devices on the same network by using UPnP and DLNA protocols. HOW TO ENABLE DLNA ON KODI? For this article, I used a clean version of Krypton 17.6. If you are using a Build, this is typically found by selecting System, then System again. Lets begin: After opening Kodi, select the Cog Icon found in the top left corner. Then Select Service Settings top row far right in...

Utilizing Alluc.ee in Add-ons for Kodi

This article will show you how to take advantage of the benefits of using a Alluc.ee Account in the Kodi Add-ons Elysium, Placenta, Death Streams and Rebirth. These are just some of the many add-ons for Movies and TV Shows available and are quite easy to navigate. What is Alluc.ee? First off, let’s take a look at what Alluc.ee is about.  Here is a brief description of Alluc.ee  and how you can take advantage of what it has to offer: “Alluc.ee (pronounced: “all-you-see”) is a user-generated link-sharing-website that catalogs links to TV shows, movies, music videos, sport, anime and cartoons. Alluc does not host any content itself. Alluc.ee also does not contain any download links, all are links to streaming video sharing websites. Users provide the links in the right category and they are released to the site after having been checked by the administrators. Video hosting sites that are linked include YouTube, Dailymotion, and Veoh, among others....
