How to Change Font Size in a Krypton Build

Font Re-sizing in Krypton

Font: A font is a set of printable or displayable text character s in a specific style and size. The type design for a set of fonts is the typeface and variations of this design form the typeface family.

Builders create their Project based on a theme. It could be geared towards Sports, Movies, a Specific TV Show or Movie character. It could be Nature, Space or an Abstract theme, the limits are endless. But there is something else that is always taken into consideration when designing these builds. What size of text but most importantly the type of Font to use. You can have some of the most beautiful, spectacular background photos in a build. But it means nothing if the user can’t read the text used to maneuver their way inside it.

Why Change the Font?

Most users change the font size more often than the style due to a Visual Disability. Not everyone has 20/20 vision and it can be difficult to read a Build. Another reason would be the location of their TV set in association to where the viewers are seated. Not everyone owns a 65″ Big Screen TV. What ever your reason maybe, here’s an easy way to change the font.

How to change Font Size

The subject Build used was the Durex Build for Krypton. This was Randomly selected, I do not know nor do I have any connection whatsoever with the Builder(s). Skin used was their/his version of Xonfluence.

font

Once the Build has opened, select System.  Most krypton builds need to go thru a few start up procedures due to what the Builder may have/have not coded into it. Add-ons may be completing a “forced update” or performing a maintenance proceed. So just wait a few seconds before selecting System.

font

Next step, select Interface.

  • Highlight Skin by hovering the cursor over it.

  • Move the cursor to the right and down to Fonts.

Font Options

A pop up window will appear showing a number of different options available to the user. To enable any of the changes described below, simply click on the option you have decided on.
  • Skin default- I like to call this the Fixer. If you make a mistake or don’t like the new look, click it to Fix it.

  • Larger font size- Does as described, makes the current font larger. This was used for this article.

  • Skin default without caps.

  • Ariel based- Style of font.

  • Massive- Changes larger into even LARGER.

  • Ubuntu Normal- best described here.

  • Ubuntu Bold- See above.

font

Consequently, changing to Larger has indeed changed all the font as you can see above. Don’t forget if any change(s) you make are not what you expected or like, just return to the previous page and try another. Don’t forget to use the Fixer *wink*.

In Conclusion

Changing the Font is really very easy to do and many of our readers are well versed on the method. However, a new user/beginner to using Builds may be confused and unsure what to do. Why we are continuing with providing basic help Blogs for those who are new to Kodi. If you have any more questions about this topic or others, come join us in the Streaming World Forum. How to Enable and Configure Trakt.TV in Kodi

What is Trakt.TV “Trakt is a platform that does many things, but primarily keeps track of TV shows and movies you watch. It integrates with your media center or home theater PC to enable scrobbling, so everything is automatic. Some people like to check in from their phone, so we enable that too.” The Trakt add-on for Kodi allows you to automatically scrobble all content you are watching to Trakt.tv. You can keep a comprehensive history of everything you’ve watched. Install and Authorizing Trakt Before using Trakt.TV it must be installed. Many builds have Trakt already installed. If you have such a build, you can skip down to the next portion of this article. Lets begin. Open Kodi and select System> Add-on> Install from repository. Scroll down and Select Kodi Add-on repository> Program Add-ons. The is list lengthy, so scroll to almost the bottom and select Trakt. Click to Install, wait for Add-on enabled notification. Now that Trakt is install...

Kodi Advanced Settings Pt 2

This is the second part of The Advanced Settings XML article, in this follow up post I want to cover a few extra items. Skip Loop Filter Package Folder SIze Remote Delay Remote Repeat Specifcally the first is for Amazons Firestick and reduces the overhead on the GPU by removing some “unseen” frames from the video stream. Skip Loop Filter Click Programs Click Easy Advanced Settings Click Edit Settings Click Audio/video playback settings Click Skiploopfilter Click 8 You can back up to the twice and hit Write XML file Package Folder Size You’ll hear this a lot “purge packages”; so lets explain, packages are the zips Kodi downloads to install your add-ons. Kodi keeps them in case you want to roll back from an upgrade. However, they mostly just use up storage space. They have no connection to buffering, nor speed, nor performance, another often touted myth! We can remove the need to do this monthly clean up by simply setting a fixed size for the fo...

Project Cypher

This is an add on thats been around for a while, with a mix of content, mostly that I haven’t used to be honest, but its recently started to produce some good live streams with I think makes it worthy of recommending. I worked through some of the content this morning and there is a mix of stuff, but of real interest to me personally is the quality of the live links. The other content such as Lingerie Football and Lingerie Fighting is unique to the add on (AFAIK), plus there plenty of horror under the “dark side” link and Serial Killer content too, should that be your thing. Installing Project Cypher Click File Manager Double Click Add source Type this EXACTLY http://repo.run/cypherrepo/ Name the source, Project Cypher Return to the Kodi Home Screen Click System Click Add ons Click install from zip file Click Project Cypher Source Click Project Cypher zip file Wait for “add on enabled” notification Project Cypher Content The long list of live sports lin...

HEVC Bluray from Entertainment Repo

I have been looking over this for a few hours and I have to say I am impressed on several levels – remember this is a beta release. So whats good? There are movies and tv show boxsets – all the main shows, all HD; most links play – though its not a 1 click addon, this has much more to offer, including choosing 720 or 1080 links. Streams are, for the most part reliable and stable, HD links can get a bit “iffy” to say the least sometimes. There is a 3D section, but few of the links work at this point, sadly. The Big Plus Ok, the really big deal here, is the use of high efficency compression, dont panic, I wont bore you with technical guff i promise – in simple terms you get 1080 films (and tv shows) in a 600 kbps stream – yup, less than 1mbps for a HD movie ! Impressive huh? This will be a real goto addon for those on slow or lower speed connections, those devices that are wifi only, like sticks that just wont play 1080 stuff unless it can see the...

Super Favourites

This is not new and its amiss of me not to have added this sooner, but I started digging into a few things to do some advanced topics later and well, never realised the true potential of this add on; its always been on my “to do ” list and i have a feeling that despite Exodus not allowing its use, that SF will be used a lot more with the TV Portal release of its custom EPG app. You may have heard of the author, Spoyser, former lead ‘droid dev for team Kodi, so you know this is a solid stable addon. What Is Super Favourites? In a nutshell Super Favourites allows you to create you own custom Super-Add on with all the best bits of all your favourite add ons (with a few exceptions), along with the bits of Kodi that you use the most. In it’s simplest use case Super Favourites, acts very similar to the standard Kodi favourites in that you add items to it (in a couple of ways, see later), and can then view them in one easy to use list. However, whereas Kodi favourites is simply a...
