Unless you are willing to risk an attempt to jailbreak what has probably been your most frivolous purchase this year, which is only an option for certain version of the iOS operating system and could easily go very wrong unless you are which is only really an option if you are a more experienced user who is confident they know what they are doing.

Free options to get Kodi 17 onto iOS


iOS users do have a few free options that are available to them. They are far from perfect options and will require ongoing, regular upkeep but they will indeed help you to download Kodi 17, Moviebox, Cartoon HD, Play Box and a multitude of other apps that are normally unavailable to those that do not have a jailbroken iOS device and are not willing to pay for a service to have them on their devices.

Open Safari Browser and go to AppValley.vip



  • From your Safari browser tap here

  • Pop-up prompting to install the developer profile will appear – Install

  • Exit Safari and go to your settings menu

  • General Settings

  • Profiles & Device management

  • Find the App Valleys profile and click ‘Trust’

You can now exit your setting and your AppValley app containing Kodi and all the Third-Party or Tweaked apps will be ready for you to enjoy.

The Downside


All sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Well here’s the downside. Your AppValley  app and all the apps you install using it will work until Apple revokes the Certificate (Normally every few weeks) then you will need to uninstall them and reinstall again with a new certificate following the same process as above. Thank you Apple for ruining a good thing.

Project Cypher

This is an add on thats been around for a while, with a mix of content, mostly that I haven’t used to be honest, but its recently started to produce some good live streams with I think makes it worthy of recommending. I worked through some of the content this morning and there is a mix of stuff, but of real interest to me personally is the quality of the live links. HEVC Bluray from Entertainment Repo

I have been looking over this for a few hours and I have to say I am impressed on several levels – remember this is a beta release. So whats good? There are movies and tv show boxsets – all the main shows, all HD; most links play – though its not a 1 click addon, this has much more to offer, including choosing 720 or 1080 links. Streams are, for the most part reliable and stable, HD links can get a bit “iffy” to say the least sometimes. There is a 3D section, but few of the links work at this point, sadly. The Big Plus Ok, the really big deal here, is the use of high efficency compression, dont panic, I wont bore you with technical guff i promise – in simple terms you get 1080 films (and tv shows) in a 600 kbps stream – yup, less than 1mbps for a HD movie !
