Exodus - The Latest from Lambda

Its great to see Lambda back in the game, for many of us Genesis was so badly missed! Well fret not Exodus, the new offering from Lambda over at TVAddons, has delivered in buckets with the initial release; in fact I am 2 hours late typing this up as I spent so much time going through things…then i got sidetracked…ahem!

Yes there are TONS of HD movies and TV Series linked here – just too much to begin to list…

This addon is NOT supported by Kodi TV, do not ask for help on their forums, you can use the Ares Forums or head over to TV Addons.

So this should cover a lot of areas with viewed episodes, favourites and so on. I’ll just review a few key settings before installing – those with previous Genesis experience will be keen to have easy download options amongst others, theres a Channels option – Sky movies all listed here and a bunch of options to twiddle with for providers, timeouts and so on – a breif overview at the end of this article.

You will need the Fusion repo to get the new Exodus repo (this isnt in Lambdas repo for some reason?) I did a full review install guide for Fusion here; then follow the rest of the guide

  • Downloading

  • Playback Configuration

  • Sky Movie Channels

Downloading

Ok, *please* check this is legal in your country as downloading copyright material can be an offence that attracts substantial fines, so if you need to download, please use a vpn for your own protection.

I personally use and recommend Private Internet Access a well respected provider, faster than IPVanish on tests, 5 devices on 1 account – Click here

You can set NAS or local storage to download to with the usual SMB options etc – which you set here;

kodi exodus download options

Exodus Playback Options

If you have known issues with HD playback you can set the max quallity here to prevent playback issues with some streams. You can see “Hosters with captchas” here – is ON by defualt i recommend you switch it OFF to avoid those annoying pop-ups (personal choice).

Sky Movies Channels

I have never understood the motivation to get these channels as there is so much more upto date content, but for those of you who want this option, click Channels from the main Exodus menu to see this;

There is much more to explore here, but I’ll leave you to do that, I’m off to watch a movie!

TV Addons - Crypto Mining Hack

If you have been using Kodi third party addons for any length of time, you cannot have missed the controversy that always seems to surround TV Addons and the antics of its owner, Adam Lackman.  In recent history there have been a number of high profile  repo “hacks” and if you think back a little further, there was the DDOS hidden in the popular Exodus add-on. TV Addons Hack & Virus History Exodus DDOS “bot” So if you dont recall TV Addons hugely popualr Exodus add-on had some code added to it to DDOS attack. This was in response to a clone or fork of the addon that TVA took exception against. This seems rather bizarre given the amount of forks that are flying around now! Here is a link to that article. Exodus Botnet We did remove a lot of the post – but heres some links showing the code and how it was added; Exodus DDOS code Target of DDOS TVA & Indigo Repo Hijacks So lets review the repo hijacks – hotly denied, but who else has a v...

Ares Wizard - Retro Gaming

The Ares Wizard has had a few upgrades to bring more of what users demand, easy android installs and retro gaming being sought by many, so grab yourself a game controller and prepare to transform your android boxes in a few clicks, retro gaming is now on the Ares Wizard! Archive Logins Just before we delve into those updates, I also wanted to point out that Mr Dobson has figured out how to log into Archive via Kodi – this may make your eyes glaze over, so I’ll be brief; the high demand builds hosted on Archive recently hit a problem, where Archive forced logins to download – normally something of a bind from android boxes. Well if you create any account (even if you don’t actually use it) this login can be entered and this allows downloads from Archive – Ares is the ONLY Wizard to be able to do this. (take note Ares does NOT store this info, so you will have to key it in each time you are prompted to do so) Android Apps A few additional apps have been added...

Kodi Advanced Settings Pt 2

    This is the second part of The Advanced Settings XML article, in this follow up post I want to cover a few extra items. Skip Loop Filter Package Folder SIze Remote Delay Remote Repeat Specifcally the first is for Amazons Firestick and reduces the overhead on the GPU by removing some “unseen” frames from the video stream. Skip Loop Filter Click Programs Click Easy Advanced Settings Click Edit Settings Click Audio/video playback settings Click Skiploopfilter Click 8 You can back up to the twice and hit Write XML file Package Folder Size You’ll hear this a lot “purge packages”; so lets explain, packages are the zips Kodi downloads to install your add-ons. Kodi keeps them in case you want to roll back from an upgrade. However, they mostly just use up storage space. They have no connection to buffering, nor speed, nor performance, another often touted myth! We can remove the need to do this monthly clean up by simply setting a fixed size for the fo...

Non Stop Kodi Add-on 24/7 Tv Content

Non Stop Kodi Add-on is the place to go for twenty-four hour tv-shows.  Do you like to binge watch series and have a hard time finding a good add-on?  Over the past few years the 24-7 add-ons have come and gone and many of the ones that remain have not been reliable…. Well thanks to Wolfey B we are able to now binge watch our favorite shows.  This add-on is specific to round the clock content and from all I have tested it works great.  Don’t take my word on it.. Check it out for yourself. Non Stop: Current version of this addon is 1.0 – first detected 2018-02-04 This add on is “unofficial” and therefore not supported by Kodi Tv or XMBC foundations, please do not ask on their forums for help, go to ares-project.uk for further support. You can unblock many “dns censored” sources with a smartdns solution  If you use p2p add ons, torrents, or in countries that prohibit streaming use a vpn from a reputable provider like...

WiFi Settings & Tweaks

I thought I’d cover the one of the most talked about issues in the world of streaming and thats WiFi and how to get the best out of it, practical measures and not some of the voodoo you read on some forums! What is WIFi? The term Wi-Fi refers specifically to the IEEE 802.11 set of standards for wireless networks. Several different standards are designated by a letter suffix on the 802.11, such as in 802.11g or 802.11n. In general all of the 802.11 standards operate on either a 2.4GHz or 5GHz radio frequency. 5GHz has much greater speed capability but a reduced range; generally speaking the lower a frequency the further it will travel, so don’t expect miracles if you switch to 5GHz. A key thing to note here is that if ANY device uses the older “b” standard then ALL devices *could* have their speed reduced to 11mbps on “g” networks, depending on your router. This really applies to older equipment or cheap equipment with old parts used in it *cough* t...
